New to Fantasy Football? Want to know what its all about? Read below.

Where did it all start?

Fantasy football was created by Riccardo Albini in 1990 in Italy.

What is Fantasy Football?

Fantasy football is a game that is played by millions of people throughout the world, with millions of Pounds/Dollars/Euros etc to be won. Basically you choose a game to play, be it The Daily Telegraph Fantasy Football League or The Sun Dream Team, or a newspaper in your country, or just a league with your friends. Then you have to pick a team, normally 11 players (unless it’s squad based, where you choose substitutes as well), with a budget and certain rules, then the scores are calculated by real life Football. So if you chose Ronaldo and he scored against Barcelona, you would score points for him scoring that goal, if you chose Pepe Reina and he kept a clean sheet you will score points for that too. Some leagues require you to choose a captain who will score double points for his contribution. The points are different with each game you play.

What if one of my players gets injured?

Most leagues allow you to make transfers throughout the season, each league has different rules on this, some allow up to a certain amount of transfers anytime throughout the season, whilst others have transfer windows, and some where you ‘pay’ points to make a transfer. Remember to read the rules.

How do i score points?

Below is a list of how points are scored. This is a general list, and can vary in different games.
